Tēnā koe, kia orāna, and greetings,

My name is Dallas Wichman and I have the pleasure of leading St Anne’s Catholic School.

In previous years I have worked at St Joseph’s School in Rangiora, St Bede’s College, and Chisnallwood Intermediate School. I am married and have three children of my own. Outside of school I love skiing, running, biking and drinking coffee. In the past I have run for NZ for Mountain Running at the World Championships in Italy. I am passionate about languages and cultures, and see the strength in growing bilingual/multilingual students for this world.

Starting in 2015 here, I have seen the school really develop into a leading language school. I am proud of our students, staff and community for what we have achieved. This school has changed a lot since 1906 when it opened, but we hold dear to the aims of our founders.

Our school was established by the Mission Sisters in 1906. Their ‘mission’ was, and still is, to work with those who are vulnerable, neglected and marginalised in our world. As educators, they recognised the importance of having love as their driving force, of setting very high educational standards, and of living their lives as genuine role models for their students.

Our school still holds the values and heritage from its past and aims to continue this tradition of love, excellence in education and, as a community, to ‘live our faith through our actions.’

We are a small school with friendly and welcoming students and staff. When you walk into a school you get a feeling of what the school is like, and at St Anne’s there is a sense of belonging and care. Come down and see for yourself.
