What a great start to the term! Our two Samoan classes are in their new homes, the school is looking a lot tidier and we are well past the halfway mark for the building works happening at school. Unfortunately we have had a lot of staff and child illness during the holidays and to start the term. Thank you for you patience and understanding at this time. We welcome Rebekah to Rūma Whā, Kandice Takamori and Rose Telea to the part time teaching team. We welcome Korinito to the class Fetū Pupula (Room 6) also.

END OF TERM  / KO TE WHAKAMUTUKA O TE WĀHAKA KURA
We farewelled the deputy principal of St Anne’s, and Star of the Sea School welcomed their new principal. Thanks so much to our kapa haka group, Matua Sonny, Matua Steve, and all of the families who turned up in support. What a day! All the best Dean Paul!
LEARNING CONFERENCES (PARENT INTERVIEWS) / HUI Ā-WHĀNAU MŌ TE AKO
Our parent interviews will be held in week 4 (we are in week 2). Families will be able to choose a time that suits you from Monday (it won’t open until Monday for bookings). If you have more than one child here, please ensure to have a gap between each. Remember, at St Anne’s the children also attend the learning conference because they are a big part of the learning!!! It is important they are there to celebrate achievements and so they can share learning with you. We usually have an early finish but are unable to do so. We are however, reducing the time to 10minutes per interview. If you feel you need more time, please just book in another day to pop in and continue the conversation.

SKI TRIP / TIRIPI RETIRETI HUKAPAPA
Our Year 7 and 8’s had an amazing time at Porters. The students all gave skiing or snowboarding a go. Many getting up the intermediate slope and a few up the chair lift. Well done everyone and thanks to our teachers and parent helpers for all their efforts. Massive!

END OF TERM TRIP / TIRIPI MŌ TE WHAKAMUTUKA O TE WĀHAKA KURA
The term two Principal Secret Trip was held yesterday! This trip celebrated bilingualism. Well done to the students chosen as they were consistently using two or more languages in the classroom and playground over the term. They are stepping up as leaders in this area for their classes. I hope you had a great time yesterday afternoon!
