QUAIL ISLAND TOMORROW / ŌTAMAHUA ĀPŌPŌ
A reminder that Room 1, Room 2, Room 9, Room 10 and Room 5 (most or all of Room 5) head to Quail Island tomorrow, here are the must knows if you have misplaced the letter:
– Students must be at school and in their class (not playing outside) at 8.15am
– Do not park in front of the school,  the buses need to park here (two of them)
– All of Room 5 must be ready to go with this group
Need:
– Non-uniform clothes suitable for walking
– Walking shoes
– A hat
– A drink (no water there)
– A large lunch
– A jacket
– Sunscreen
– Be ready for an adventure!

HEALTH AND SAFETY / KO TE ORAKA ME TE HAUMARU (UPDATE/PĀNUI WHAKAHOU)
Entering and exiting school: Reminder please do not come through the entrance foyer unless you are going to Kidsbase or are in Room 5, it will probably be locked anyway. To enter or leave school, please walk around past the bike shed or the back of Room 1. It will be like this until we advise otherwise.
Trucks moving through school: Trucks need to go in and out this school and will be scheduled before 8.30am and after 3.05pm (school hours for children). It is important that children are NOT here unsupervised before 8.30am or after 3.05 as per our bells. Any trucks will be in close contact with Kidsbase to ensure the children are safe. PLEASE ENROL IN KIDSBASE, DON’T LEAVE YOUR CHILDREN HERE OUTSIDE OF HOURS UNSUPERVISED PLEASE. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. THIS WILL LAST FOR FIVE AND A QUARTER MONTHS SO ENROL NOW IF NEEDED.
NOTE: The days of the trips to Quail Island, this time will be 8am that trucks stop so children can be at school early.

MASS THIS WEEKEND / MIHA I TĒNEI WĪKENE
A reminder that all students from Room 4, Room 5,  Room 7, Room 8 and Room 10 are expected to represent us at Mass this Saturday 21 March at 6pm. We understand that some go to churches other than St Anne’s (like many of our staff), but we ask that you come to St Anne’s for this, once a term celebration. It is tidy dress (not uniform). See you all there.

LENTEN FOCUS-SCHOOL FAITH GOALS/ AROKA RĒNETI-KĀ WHĀIKA WHAKAPONO KURA:
Kia ora e te whānau.
At St Anne’s we have goals for the year to continue developing our faith. There are three main areas we are improving in, singing with spirit, praying from the heart & a deeper understanding of scripture. To help our classes remember these goals, our Fatih Team has been working hard on posters for each classroom. You can help at home too:
– Find your favourite worship music and CRANK IT UP!
– Get REALLY DEEP into conversations about what stories and parables in scripture are about.
– Settle in for MEANINGFUL  prayer time.
We’ll keep doing the same at school!

Here are our students who stood out last week:
Room 1 – Caleb, for singing songs of praise in all languages with enthusiasm.
Room 5 – Lina , for her sheer variety of meaningful prayers this week. 
Room 2 – Solly, for sharing thoughtful prayers and having a go with singing the songs at prayer time.
Room 3 – Maisie, for sharing thoughtful prayers in the morning.
Room 4 – Nathalie, for leading prayers this week (stepping right out of her comfort zone!).Room 7 – Nathan, for confidently sharing thoughtful prayers with Rm 7 & 8.
Room 8 – Jilianne, for having a go at sharing meaningful prayers during our tikanga. 

Room 9 – Charlei, for being able to retell each bible story learnt during this Lenten season.
Room 10 – Mary Margaret, for saying beautiful and heartfelt prayers for her loved ones.

A big thank you to Srypich and Long Heng, parents of Ocean Room 4,  from Bakery and Coffee on Ferry, who donated so many donuts and hot cross buns for our children. Our  five year olds were so inspired they wrote about it!

WINTER SPORT OPTION / HE KŌWHIRIKA HŌTOKE
If you want to learn to play rugby, rugby league, football or netball, you can sign up for Thursday’s in winter. A bus picks you up and parents get you from the venue. For school years 4-8 Please read this information.

LITTER FREE LUNCH BOX REMINDER
A litter free lunch means no plastic wrap, no foil, no zip lock bags and no packages. Your child can still eat foods that come in packages but please take the food out of their wrappers and packages before putting them in your child’s lunchbox. Thank you for your support.
